Waterlase Dental Laser

Laser dentistry offers patients a more comfortable dental experience. Waterlase uses laser-energized water, called hydrokinetics, to gently and precisely remove decay in teeth (hard tissue). Because Waterlase does not emit heat and vibration, you will not need local anesthesia, in most cases. Nervous patients no longer have to fear the loud whine of the drill, either, because Waterlase is quiet and comfortable. In the capable hands of Dr. Kiger, Waterlase provides pinpoint accuracy, and reduces the risk of damage to healthy tissues.

We also use Waterlase for cosmetic gum lifts, periodontal therapy, and crown lengthening.

Benefits of Waterlase

  • Heat and vibration cause most of the discomfort associated with the traditional drill. Hydrokinetic cutting doesn’t transmit heat or vibration, so dental procedures can be performed without anesthesia in many cases.

  • The laser's pinpoint accuracy allows Dr. Kiger to leave as much healthy tooth structure as possible, which means patients keep their original teeth longer.

  • Waterlase gently peforms numerous soft tissue, or gum, procedures with little or no bleeding from the patient. With Waterlase, Dr. Kiger can perform many procedures that previously required a specialist.

  • The Waterlase maximizes the bonding of tooth-colored fillings, increasing the longevity of the repairs.
